STORY

Remembering Miles

The Clint Folsom erotic gay murder mystery series.

Habu reports that he enjoyed writing this series. His premise was a no-holds-barred treatment of an unabashedly promiscuous, laid-back, “good-guy” homicide cop with movie-star looks .

(Clint's) love of being ‘topped’ is so ingrained within his being that each sex act is with an abandon and longing that makes men ‘feel like kings’. If you weren’t a ‘sub’ before, you would wish to be one by the end of the book. Once I finished reading it, I rushed to buy the rest of the Clint Folsom series. Hot Stuff!

Shabbu is the combined pen name for two established authors, one on the East Coast of the United States and one on the East Coast of Australia, who spin erotica together in cyber space and who both publish with eXcessic.com. Habu, a bisexual former supersonic spy jet pilot, intelligence agent, and diplomat, is a published mainstream novelist and short story writer under another name and in another dimension of his life. Sabb once an accountant and sometime property developer, is a wild barbarian at heart and has no doubt that life really is complicated, but knows that love is out there of you’re lucky enough to find it.

When two writers want to get closer to each other by writing together--what do they write but romance. About finding love unexpectedly. And that is where Shabbu began --with the short story Two Chances, and the others in their book Gayly Complicated

In later writing they moved on to exploring a theme together, such as the erotic appeal of cigars --in their collection Cigars!. Though neither of them smokes cigars or really wants to, they can still see the erotic aura around the shape, smell etc etc of a big expensive cigar.

In The Tree of Idleness, they explore habu's memories of northern Cyprus, overlaid with the techniques used by Lawrence Durrell in his Alexandra Quartet. For those interested the four books in the Alexandria quartet are, Justine, Balthazar, Mountolive and Clea.
